UFC 64: Unstoppable was a mixed martial arts event held by the Ultimate Fighting Championship on Saturday, October 14, 2006. The event took place at the Mandalay Bay Events Center, in Las Vegas, Nevada and was broadcast live on pay-per-view in the United States and Canada.
The card centered on a UFC Middleweight Championship defense by Rich Franklin against highly-touted Anderson Silva, Franklin's first defense in 7 months. This card also featured a UFC Lightweight Championship bout between The Ultimate Fighter alumni Kenny Florian and longtime UFC veteran Sean Sherk. It was the first Lightweight Championship bout since UFC 41 in 2003, when B.J. Penn and Caol Uno fought to a draw.

Pellegrino defeated Assuncoa via submission (rear naked choke) at 2:04 of round one. This preliminary bout was not aired on the broadcast.

Clay Guida vs. Justin James
Guida defeated James via submission (rear naked choke) at 4:42 of round two. The fight, although preliminary, was aired on the broadcast.

Yushin Okami vs. Kalib Starnes
Okami defeated The Ultimate Fighter 3 alumni Starnes via TKO (strikes) at 1:40 of round three.

Spencer Fisher vs. Dan Lauzon
Fisher defeated Lauzon, brother of Joe Lauzon, via TKO (strikes) at 4:38 of round one. Lauzon came in as a late replacement, having only two weeks to prepare. Dan Lauzon being the youngest fighter ever to fight in the UFC.
Heavyweight bout
Carmelo Marrero vs. Cheick Kongo
Marrero defeated Kongo via split decision after three rounds. The wrestler (Marrero) kept frustrating Kongo by constantly taking him down, disabling his striking. He dominated top control in each round and took Kongo out of his gameplan. The judges scored the bout 29-28, 28-29, 29-28.
Welterweight bout
Jon Fitch vs. Kuniyoshi Hironaka
Fitch defeated Hironaka via unanimous decision after three rounds. The judges scored the bout 30-27, 30-27, 30-25.
UFC Lightweight Championship
Sean Sherk vs. Kenny Florian
For the vacant UFC Lightweight Championship belt Sherk, in his first match at lightweight, defeated Florian via unanimous decision to win the vacated Lightweight championship after five rounds. The judges scored the bout 49-46, 49-46, and 50-45. (The 50-45 score was erroneously announced as 50-48.)[3] In the fight, Sherk lasted most of the match on top of Florian, although Florian was still able to cause a cut while in his guard.[1] This cut however turned out to be worse for Florian than Sherk. The blood from this cut kept getting into Florian's eyes rather than Sherk's. At the end of each round Florian was drenched in blood while Sherk barely had any on him ironically. Sherk is only the second lightweight champion in UFC history and first to hold the title since 2002.
UFC Middleweight Championship
Rich Franklin (C) vs. Anderson Silva
Silva defeated Franklin via TKO (knees) at 2:59 of round one to become the new UFC Middleweight Champion. After clinching up, Silva was able to deliver several hard knee strikes after securing Franklin in a double collar tie. After a knee that buckled Franklin, Silva lost the clinch and Franklin staggered toward the fence, when Silva caught Franklin in another collar tie and threw a knee to the face of Franklin, breaking his nose. A few more strikes from Silva sent Franklin to the canvas, at which point referee John McCarthy stopped the fight.
