KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Tyler Smith scored 15 points and JaJuan Smith added 14 to help No. 7 Tennessee thump Arkansas-Monticello 101-44 on Wednesday night in the first round of the StubHub Legends Classic.

Tennessee used a 20-5 run to start the game and put it out of reach, leading much of the second half by more than 40 points. The Vols (2-0), who reached the round of 16 in last season's NCAA tournament, beat Temple in their home opener last Friday.

The Vols are 17-0 in nonconference home games under Bruce Pearl and improved to 31-4 under the third-year coach when scoring more than 80 points.

Deron Brown led the Division II Boll Weevils with 11 points and five assists before fouling out. He was the only UAM player in double figures. Justin Johnson had eight points and Giovanni Marchetti and Bernard Semour each contributed six.

The Volunteers shot 60 percent from the floor while holding Arkansas-Monticello to 25 percent. Tennessee dominated in almost every phase of the game, shooting 60 percent from the floor while holding UAM to 25 percent.

The learning process continued for Arkansas-Monticello, which played the last of two exhibition games before opening its regular season against West Virginia Nov. 16. The team returned just one starter and 3.3 points per game from last season's 9-17 squad. The Boll Weevils dressed just 10 players for the game.

Tennessee won again without a major contribution from preseason All-American Chris Lofton. After averaging almost 21 points last season, the defending Southeastern Conference player of the year has just 15 points in two games on 3-of-15 shooting.
