In SCOTLAND Rangers defeated rivals Celtic away for the first time in five years to move 3 points clear at the top of the Premier League. The result was thanks in large part to a shocking lapse by the Celtic goalkeeper as Rangers won the match 2-0. Rangers have 65 points from 16 games with Celtic on 62 points from 25 games and Hibernian on 47 points from 26 games.

AC Milan moved top of the ITALIAN Serie 'A' after a 1-0 home win over Cagliari. Long time leaders Juventus had a 0-0 away draw at Messina. Ac Milan have 54 points from 25 games with Juventus also on 54 points and Inter Milan on 43 points, bith from 25 games.

Barcelona extended their lead in the SPANISH La Liga after a 2-0 home win over Real Mallorca. Second placed real Madrid went down to a 2-0 defeat at home to Athletico Bilbao. Barcelona have 57 points from 24 games with Real Madrid on 50 points and Real Betis on 41 points from 24 games.

Lyon are 6 points clear in the FRENCH Ligue 1 despite a 1-1 away draw at Monaco. Marseille moved into second place with a 1-0 away win at Bastia. Lyon have 53 points from 26 games with Marseille on 47 points and Lille on 46 points.

Bayern Munich stay top in the GERMAN Bundesliga after an impressive 5-0 home win over Borussia Dortmund. Second placed Schalke had a 3-1 away win at Borussia Monchengladbach. Bayern Munich have 44 points from 22 games with Schalke also on 44 points from 22 games and Werder Bremen on 40 points from 22 games.

PSV Eindhoven are 4 points clear in HOLLAND's Eredivisie after a 4-1 home win over NEC Nijmegen. Second placed AZ Alkmaar were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Roda JC. PSV Eindhoven have 55 points from 22 games with AZ Alkmaar on 51 points from 22 games and Ajax on 47 points from 22 games.
