The Saskatchewan Roughriders signed rookie defensive lineman Keith Shologan to a three-year deal, plus an option, on Monday.
The six-foot-one, 275-pound Shologan was selected in the first
round, fourth overall, of this year’s CFL Canadian college draft by
Saskatchewan. However, he had previously signed as a free agent with the NFL’s San Diego Chargers before being released two weeks ago.
Shologan played collegiately at Central Florida, where he was a
four-year starter. He started in 44 games there and was named to the
All-Conference USA second team.
Also on Monday, the Edmonton Eskimos signed linebacker Trey Young. Young spent the previous three seasons with the Calgary Stampeders before being released prior to the start of the 2008 campaign.
