The chills emerged in the third quarter, when Roethlisberger had to leave the game with what the team called a right hip injury. He was hit hard while completing a 45-yard pass to Santonio Holmes.
But Pittsburgh fans were breathing easier when Roethlisberger was back for the Steelers' first series of the fourth quarter.
Holmes and Nate Washington each had two touchdown receptions as the 6-2 Steelers kept their two-game lead over Cleveland in the AFC North.
The Steelers hammered Ravens quarterback Steve McNair, who completed 13 passes for 63 yards. McNair also threw an interception and lost a pair of fumbles.
Pittsburgh linebacker James Harrison had two and a-half sacks, two forced fumbles, an interception and a fumble recovery by intermission.
