Northwestern beats Florida State 73-59

EVANSTON, Ill. - Craig Moore scored 20 points to lead Northwestern to a 73-59 win over Florida State on Wednesday night in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.

Kevin Coble added 15 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for Northwestern (5-1), who dealt Florida State (7-1) its first loss of the season. Ivan Peljusic added 10 points for the Wildcats.

Northwestern trailed 36-33 at halftime, but used a 20-2 run in the second half to put away a sloppy Florida State team. Peljusic scored eight straight points during the span.

Toney Douglas scored 21 points to lead the Seminoles and Uche Echefu added 14.

Florida State had 22 turnovers and went scoreless for more than four minutes during Northwestern’s big run. The Seminoles hit just 6-of-23 3-pointers against the Wildcats’ 1-3-1 zone and were outrebounded 41-33.
