NWA World Heavyweight Championship Rankings
Champion: Raven (1st reign, 1 defense)

1. Christopher Daniels - TNA X-Division Champion (1st reign, 10 defenses)
When there is no official Number 1 Contender named by TNA who gets the push?  Why the X-Division Champion of course and that man is "The Fallen Angel".  Daniels is in the midst of his first reign as X-Division Champion and so far it's been incredible.  He's logged an amazing 10 title defenses against the likes of Chris Sabin, AJ Styles, Jeff Hardy, and Petey Williams and it doesn't look like he'll be slowing down anytime soon.  Daniels looks comfortable in the X-Division so, although he's the top contender, don't look for him to make the jump towards the NWA World Heavyweight Championship...yet.

2. Somoa Joe - MOP Squad Number 1 Contender
After picking up the victory in what can only be described as a breathtaking match against former TNA X-Division Champion Chris Sabin at No Surrender, the longest reigning Ring of Honor Champion in the promotion's history gets our nod as the MOP Squad Number 1 Contender to the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.  Joe has the talent and ability to take on just about anyone in TNA but taking the NWA Championship away from Raven, a man who claims it was his destiny to hold the belt, is a challenge for anyone.  Joe will be competing in the upcoming Super X Cup so it looks like he hasn't quite decided to put his X-Division days behind him.

3. AJ Styles
A former 2x NWA Champion himself, AJ Styles lit up Universal Studios during his No Surrender match against Sean Waltman.  Although both of Styles' NWA Championship reigns came at the expense of Jeff Jarrett, don't think that The Phenomenal One is a stranger to Raven.  Styles is, in fact, one of few men in TNA that could actually present a unique challenge to Raven.  Like Somoa Joe, however, AJ Styles is entered in the upcoming Super X Cup so it looks like he's not ready to leave the division that he helped to build.

4. Jeff Jarrett
Jeff Jarrett is and always will be the man with the plan in TNA.  Jarrett has been on a quest to regain his lost NWA World Heavyweight Championship since losing it to AJ Styles and he will stop at nothing until he gets it.  At No Surrender, Jarrett surprised everyone by aligning himself with TNA's newest acquistion, Rhyno.  Could this be part of Double J's master plan to get himself back in the title hunt?  Only time and this week's Impact can give us the answer to that question.

5. Abyss
After aligning himself with Raven's archenemy, Father James Mitchell, Abyss seemed to be a lock to capture his first World Championship in his No Surrender match against Raven.  That, however, proved to be wrong as Raven managed to counter the incredible strength and surprising agility of this incredible monster.  That loss, however, doesn't set Abyss back, it will only feul his rage and his hunger to compete for the title again and it will take alot more than what most of TNA's talent has to stop Abyss from eventually gaining that which he so desperately seeks, the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
