DURHAM, N.H. (AP) -- Natalie Darwitz scored off a rebound with 1:08 left to give Minnesota its second straight NCAA women's hockey title, 4-3 over Harvard on Sunday.

Darwitz, who had three goals last year in the Golden Gophers' 6-2 championship game victory over Harvard, scored her 42nd goal of the season after goalie Ali Boe failed to control the rebound following Kelly Stephens' slap shot.

``It took a funny hop over my stick,'' Boe said.

Top-ranked Minnesota finished the season 37-2-2.

``It's been an amazing year,'' Minnesota coach Laura Halldorson said. ``We've never won this many games before.''

Harvard dropped to 26-8-3 with its first loss in 22 games.

Darwitz, who finished the season with 114 points to break the women's record of 112 set by Harvard's Jennifer Botterill in 2002-03, scored the winning goal after Harvard defenseman Caitlin Cahow tied it at 3 on a power play with 6:06 left.

Darwitz also assisted on goals by Krissy Wendell, Lyndsay Wall and Ashley Albrecht. Wendell, selected the top player in women's college hockey Saturday night, scored her 43rd goal with 2:36 left in the first period.

Jennifer Sifers and Sarah Vaillancourt also scored for the Crimson, second for the third straight year.

``It was a very narrow margin that tipped the scales their way today,'' Harvard coach Katey Stone said. ``Sooner or later, it's going to come back to us.''

In the third-place game, St. Lawrence beat Dartmouth 5-1.
