Last Week: 2-2
Season to Date: 27-25 (.519)

Thanks to two upsets in the Western Division, the Stamps sit in sole possession of first place after 13 games.  Mind you, their 15-14 home squeaker over Hamilton barely counts as a victory.  But hey, at least they didn't lose to Winnipeg, the way a certain Northern Alberta squad did in Week 14...

The Edmonton Eskishmoes kick off Week 15 playing host to the BC Lions, the team that beat Saskatchewan last week to give Calgary a one-game advantage.  The Lions continue to be up-and-down, alternating wins and losses in their last five games.  But over that same stretch, the Eskies are just 1-4.  Their lone win came in Regina before the Riders got their revenge at Commonwealth the following week.  Edmonton's hardly looking like the team I picked to finish second at the start of the season, and they've been far from unbeatable at home.  The winner of this game gets a leg up in the fight to avoid crossing over, and for what it's worth, I think it'll be BC.

The Riders, meanwhile, return to Mosaic to host the Toronto Argonauts.  Toronto has yet to beat a Western Division team this season, and I don't see any reason to pick them in Regina.  As much as I'd like the gap to widen between the Stamps and second place, I gotta go with Saskatchewan at home.

As for the Stamps, they face a tough test on Turkey Day by travelling to Montreal, the site of their Grey Cup victory.  The crowd will be much smaller this time around, and if Calgary can win in front of 66,000 screaming Als fans, the Pervical Molson gathering of 20,202 shouldn't be too intimidating.  The Stamps will definitely need to bounce back, however, as they put up one of many Pathetic Performances in Week 14.  (The MPP nod's gotta go to the Argos, though, who looked the worst in their own building.)  Montreal has proven to be the most dominant team in the CFL this season; so dominant that they've already clinched the Eastern Division, and have nothing more to play for until the playoffs.  Meanwhile, the Stamps will be out for revenge after losing to the Als on Opening Day.  I don't wanna spoil my turkey (cold cuts), so I'm taking Calgary as my Upset Pick of the Week!

Although the Winnipeg-Hamilton game has the potential to be a snoozer, consider this: the winner takes temporary possession of second place in a division where only two teams will make the playoffs.  The Bombers have been hot of late, and stretching their current win streak to three games would equal their win total from the first 12 weeks of the season.  Hamilton's only lost twice at home this year, but the last one was a 42-8 shellacking that shattered the Ivor Wynne mystique and sent the Tabbies into a tailspin.  That's why I'm going for the Double Upset Special on Thanksgiving Day.  For the first time all season, I'm taking the Bombers on the road. (Not counting games played at the Rogers Centre, which is every CFL team's home away from home.)
