Last Week: 1-3
Season to Date: 25-23 (.521)

So, last week didn't go so well for me.  The Stamps won, but the Eskies, Argos and Ticats all made me look foolish.  Especially the Ticats.  More on that later...

After a rare win over Toronto last week, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers play host to the Edmonton Eskimos in Week 14.  The Eskies might have blown a home game against Saskatchewan on Saturday, but they've taken two on the road from a Rider team who embarrassed the Bombers in the Banjo Bowl.  Winnipeg's never had a two-game winning streak this season, and Edmonton's not the team for them to start one against.  I'm taking the Eskies.

Following their big road win, the Riders travel to Vancouver, where they might an unpredictable Lions squad.  After holding their own with league-leading Montreal, the Lions barely beat the Argos on home turf, and lost last week to the Stampeders for the sixth time in two seasons.  Not that there's any shame in losing to Calgary...  All things considered, if the Riders can win in front of a not-entirely-hostile crowd of 55 thousand at Commonwealth, I think they've got a good shot against half as many people at BC Place.  I like Saskatchewan as my Upset Pick of the Week.

With their Week 13 blowout win at Ivor Wynne, the Montreal Alouettes proved once again that they're the undisputed kings of the Eastern Division.  This week, they travel to Toronto to face the Tabbies' big brother.  The Argos may get their butts kicked on the playground, but they can always go home and beat on their little bro--two of their three wins have come against the Cats this season.  Keeping in mind that Toronto has only won one of its last 10 home games, and this has all the makings of my Blowout of the Week.  The Als will clinch a playoff spot in style, and the Habs fans who couldn't get tickets to the ACC will paint the Rogers Centre bleu, blanc et rouge.

Although I only nailed one of my four picks last week, I couldn't really help that two of my misses were by five points or less.  On the other hand, I was thoroughly embarrassed by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, who turned in the Most Pathetic Performance of Week 13 after when I was counting on them to upset the Als.  Five of Hamilton's six wins have come at home this season, but that didn't stop Montreal from running them into the Ivor Wynne turf.  They get more bad news this week as their rematch with the Calgary Stampeders is at McMahon Stadium, where Ontario teams go to die.  The Stamps' offence won't be held to three points this week--but the Tabbies just might.  Calgary wins big.
