Last Week: 3-1
Season to Date: 22-18 (.550)

Last week was another good week for my prediction column--I was an overtime loss away from going 4-0.  If I could find some way to give myself half a point for that one, I probably would.  But unlike the NHL, you don't get any points in the standings for an overtime loss.  Of this, Hamilton is well aware, having lost ground to Montreal in the Eastern Standings last week.

The Ti-Cats open Week 12 hosting a red-hot Stampeder team that beat the Edmonton Eskishmoes back-to-back in the annual Labour Day Classic and Rematch Game.  The Stamps don't usually fare well at Ivor Wynne--but they don't usually sweep the home-and-home series with Edmonton, either.  I'm taking the team with the momentum on the road.

The Argos also have some momentum going into the weekend as they finally ended that ugly 10-game home losing streak with their OT win over the Tabbies.  They've also got a road trip ahead of them, and a rather long one at that, to the unfriendly confines of BC Place.  The Lions held the East-leading Alouettes to 12 points in Vancouver two weeks ago, squeaking out an upset win.  Facing the league's co-doormats, this one shouldn't come down to a touchdown.  I'm taking the Lions in my Blowout of the Week.

Although they're only tied with Toronto for the league's worst record, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers showed they're the worst team in the CFL by turning in the Most Pathetic Performance of Week 11 in their 55-10 home loss to the rival Roughriders.  This team has more appeal to soap opera fans than football followers this season, what with all the drama created by incoming coach/GM Mike Kelly.  The former Eskishmoe assistant--during some of the worst years in Eskishmoe history--has remade the Bombers in his own image, and let's face it, he's an ugly bastard.  Can I call for two blowouts this week?  Cuz things will surely get ugly at Percival Molson as the Als's O shoots down this sorry squadron of Bombers.

At least one game on Sunday will be worth watching.  (Too bad it coincides with my Seahawks' Week 2 meeting with San Fran, but that's another story...)  Following their impressive victory in the 'Peg, the Riders play host to the Eskishmoes, who put up respectable numbers in dropping a single-point decision last week.  With the return of Andy Fantuz and the defection of Kitwana Jones, I expect a high-scoring, hard-hitting affair.  I also expect the home side to come out on top in keeping pace with Calgary as Edmonton loses ground in the Western Division playoff race...

CFL Editor Greg Harris can be reached via email at greg.harris@mopsquad.com. To him, picking between Edmonton and Saskatchewan is like picking his favourite Oilers player or Nickelback tune.  (For the record, I'm going with own-goal scoring Steve Smith and the sweet melody of Nickelback being pelted with rocks at that Portuguese gig a couple years back...)
