Before I
give you my predictions for tonight’s show there are two things that I want to
mention. The first is my comment this past week about Bret Hart and his lack of
charisma. A few of my readers were kind of enough to email me and tell me that
this guy definitely had charisma. When I read these emails I realized how could
I have made that statement when I never saw Bret in the WWE. I really felt bad that I said that, and I want to apologize for putting it out there.
Okay,
second I enjoyed SmackDown!, but there were two segments that I absolutely
loved. The first was that phenomenal Eddie Guerrero tribute video. Tears were just
streaming from my eyes. Just watching it made me realize just how valuable he
was to the company and how much I miss him. And when the crowd stood up after
viewing it, well that’s when I really lost it. This was just a fantastic
segment. And finally the Rock returned. This man didn’t miss a beat and I can’t
tell you the chills I got when he started doing all of the Rock’s material. For
a woman that was never a fan of the Rock’s I loved watching him like never
before. And when he mentioned guest-hosting Raw all I could think of was that
Raw’s ratings would probably be at it’s highest in sometime. These two segments
were by far the highlights of what turned out to be a good SmackDown!.
Now
without further stalling here are my picks for tonight’s Hell In A
Cell. If I get more than two right I am going to be very shocked.
This card is one of the most difficult in a very long time. I’m not secure at
all with anything I predicted. But what the hell, it’s still fun doing this.
I don’t
know how Punk will beat the Undertaker without Taker looking weak, but Punk
will retain. Even thought the Undertaker physically is not in good shape you
can bet that he’s going to give 110% out there. And even thought Taker is
going to give it is all, Punk somehow will get the better of him and remain
champion. I think this is going to be a damn good match. Taker and HIAC matches
just go hand in hand and because of that, Punk is going to work even harder
which could mean that this is going be the match of the night. Oh I cannot wait
to see this one.
Lately the
women’s division on Raw has not looked to good in the ring. And Mickie hasn’t
exactly shined as of late, so I am wondering if tonight we are going to get a
new women’s champion. Well I think we are and that is why I am going with
Alicia for the win. Honestly I wouldn’t mind the change at all. Plus let’s face
it this division is not what it was so maybe a fresh new champion could be the
start of the women’s division getting some credibility back.
I just
can’t see John Cena losing. Cena will retain and I would
love for this to be the end of the feud. I just hope Orton doesn’t dominate and
repeatedly beat up Cena, because then we all know that Cena will make one of
his unbelievable recoveries and then defeat Orton. You know how I feel about
that since I talked about it in last week’s column. If Cena is going to win
then I hope to God it’s booked where both guys are pretty even in what they do
to each other. As I said Cena will win and I have a feeling this is the
match closing the show. I wish I could say I can’t wait to see this one, but I
would be lying.
Supposedly
this match is going to open the show. This is the perfect match to get things
going. DX will have the crowd popping like crazy when they come out and Legacy
will just keep things going since they really have shown a lot since they
started up with DX. I can’t wait to see these four go at it. With Hunter and Shawn Michaels veterans
of these matches I think they are going to bring out the very best in Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes.
This match should be a very good match and I look for DX to win and I think
this too could be the last time we see these four go at it.
Oh say
good-bye to the title Kofi because tonight you are going to lose. Now will the
Miz win or will it be Jack Swagger? Well if this match would have
taken place months ago I would have said Jack Swagger would win this without a
doubt, but unfortunately Swagger hasn’t gotten that push that I thought he
would once he was drafted to Raw from ECW. I have to go with the Miz tonight. I
am thinking that since supposedly the Miz was planning on leaving the WWE,
maybe he was promised gold if he stayed. That’s why I could see the Miz as the
new U.S. champion. I would really be shocked if he didn’t win. This should come
off very well and I think the crowd will definitely be into this one.
I am so
anxious to see Jericho go back to his solo act on SmackDown!. So maybe this is
wishful thinking on my part but because Rey returns tonight and Batista isn’t
100 percent yet I think those two will win and Jericho and Show will finally go
their separate ways. SmackDown! could use Jericho on a regular basis and then
Batista and Mysterio could show up on both SmackDown! and Raw. I think it’s the
end of JeriShow. Hey this should be a very good match with Rey and Jericho
working their asses off. They work so well with each other and I expect both of
these guys to be the stars of this match.
How can
this one be a bad match? It can’t. I am so happy that these two young guys have
a place on this show. I’m really looking forward to seeing this one and I don’t
expect to be disappointed at all. Wow this one is another tough one to pick.
Ziggler failed a few times to beat Mysterio for the championship, so how would
it look to have him lose again? Yet, these two haven’t really faced each other
for this title on a pay per view so I don’t know if Morrison would hang on and
lose it at another pay per view. I’m so torn about which guy to go with. I
really haven’t got a clue. Okay so I’m just going to say that Morrison hangs to
the title for a little longer.
They just
added this match last night. Listen I’m really anxious to watch McIntyre in the
ring, His mic work has been very good and each week I have to say he has held
my interest. R-Truth hasn’t been in a match for a while since McIntyre has
attacked him on a regular basis. But Truth can put on some good matches so this
could turn out to be something to watch. Yeah I can’t wait to see these two in
the ring. Since this is Drew’s first match I just can’t see him losing. I think
he HAS to go over tonight or all the bragging that he has done for weeks would
be for nothing. I’ll say McIntyre gets his first SmackDown! win tonight.
Winner:
Drew McIntyre
Okay so
there are my unsure picks of the night. I have ordered the show and I’m hoping
that we got some bloody matches for a change, but of course unless someone
actually gets busted open by accident I’m sure with the PG rating a bloody show
is not what we are going to get. Ah how I miss those days. Look for me Tuesday
or Wednesday with my thoughts on this show and Raw. Remember Ben Roethlisberger is
hosting tomorrow night. I wish I knew if that was good thing or a bad thing.
Here’s hoping that Raw is a lot better than last week’s show because the
thought of listing all the bad segments brings a tear to my eye.
