EDMONTON - The Calgary Stampeders dealt punter Duncan O’Mahony to
the Edmonton Eskimos on Monday for a conditional 2009 Canadian college
draft pick.
O’Mahony, a native of Kilkenny, Ireland, played in eight
regular-season games for Calgary in 2007. He averged 42.3-yards on 51
punts.
“Duncan is a proven CFL commodity and an excellent directional
punter,” Eskimos head coach and director of football operations Danny
Maciocia said in a release.
O’Mahony was selected by the Stampeders in the second round of the 2001 CFL draft.
Also on Monday, the Eskimos released kicker Rob Pikula.
