CALGARY - The Calgary Stampeders signed receiver Ken-Yon Rambo to a multi-year contract extension Tuesday.

The 29-year-old set personal bests with 62 receptions, 983 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns last season, his third in the CFL. The 10 touchdown catches tied teammate Jeremaine Copeland and Saskatchewan’s D.J. Flick for the league lead.

“There’s no place I’d rather be,” Rambo said in a statement. “I love it here, I love where this organization is heading, I love the guys in this locker-room and it was an easy decision to commit to the Stampeders.”

Rambo was originally a seventh-round pick in the 2001 NFL draft by the Oakland Raiders. He later joined the Dallas Cowboys after being released at the end of training camp. and signed with the New York Jets in 2003.

The Stampeders signed him in 2005.

“Ken-Yon is a proven playmaker in the CFL,” said head coach/general manager John Hufnagel. “He is a key part of our offence and I look forward to working with him this year.”
