The Boston Red Sox and their fans have reason to celebrate as they have beaten the New York Yankees 10-3 and are going to the World Series for the first time since 1986.

It is the first time in baseball history that a team has won a best of 7 series after being down 3-0 and the second straight year the Yankees have been eliminated at Yankee stadium.

The Series MVP was David Ortiz who wouldn’t be denied in all 4 Sox victories, hitting .387 with 3 home runs and 11 RBI’s.

Derek Lowe Pitched a gem on only 2 days' rest going 6 innings and allowing 1 hit and 1 earned run. Pedro Martinez also pitched a inning allowing 2 runs off of 3 hits with the New York crowd filling the stadium with “Who’s your daddy” chants.

Another hero for Boston was Johnny Damon. Damon, who struggled through the entire series came up big with two HR’s and 6 RBI’s in game 7, one of the home runs being a Grand Slam in the 2nd. Ortiz and Mark Bellhorn also had HR’s.

Boston fans poured the streets of Boston, at and near Fenway in celebration of there 5th pennant in 86 years. People were already getting in line for World Series Tickets.

The Sox now await the winner of the NLCS between the Houston Astros and the St. Louis Cardinals. Game 1 will be on Saturday at 8PM EST.
