BOSTON (AP) -- The Boston Bruins agreed to terms with former Detroit Red Wings center Mark Mowers on Thursday, continuing their offseason overhaul.

Financial terms of the two-year contract were not released.

Mowers, 32, set career-highs with 11 assists and 15 points last season.

Despite lacking a permanent general manager, the Bruins have been one of the most active NHL teams this offseason. Over the weekend, they signed defenseman Zdeno Chara and forwards Marc Savard and Shean Donovan.

Former Ottawa assistant GM Peter Chiarelli is scheduled to take over the team July 15. The Bruins, who have a new coach in Dave Lewis, are being run by interim GM Jeff Gorton until then.
